Terms of Service
Last updated: 1 September 2026
These terms govern your use of UltraMonitor (“the service”), operated from ultramonitor.app. By creating an account or using the service you agree to these terms. If you use the service on behalf of an organisation, you agree on its behalf.
01The service
UltraMonitor checks the availability of URLs and endpoints you configure, records response times and uptime history, and sends alerts by email and Slack. Features depend on your plan and are described on the pricing page.
02Accounts
You must provide accurate information when creating an account and keep your credentials secure. You are responsible for everything that happens under your account. One person may not share a login; paid plans include a number of seats and each user needs their own.
You must be at least 18 years old to create an account.
03Plans and payment
The Starter plan is free. Paid plans (Pro and Pro+) are billed monthly in advance via our payment provider. Prices are shown on the pricing page and may change with 30 days' notice; changes apply from your next billing cycle.
Paid plans renew automatically until cancelled. You can cancel at any time from the billing page — the plan stays active until the end of the paid period, then moves to Starter. See our Refund & Cancellation Policy for details.
04Acceptable use
You may only monitor endpoints you own or are authorised to monitor. You must not:
- Use the service to probe, scan, or attack third-party systems.
- Monitor URLs designed to harass, spam, or overload a target.
- Attempt to bypass plan limits, reverse engineer, or disrupt the service.
- Use the service for anything unlawful.
We may suspend accounts that violate these rules.
05Availability and no uptime guarantee
We work hard to keep UltraMonitor reliable — it is, after all, an uptime service — but the service is provided “as is” and we do not guarantee uninterrupted operation or that every incident will be detected. Monitoring alerts are a best-effort signal, not a guarantee; you remain responsible for your own systems and for having independent alerting for critical infrastructure.
06Your data
You retain all rights to the URLs you monitor and the check data generated for your account. You grant us the limited right to process that data to operate the service. Our Privacy Policy explains what we collect and how we use it.
07Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, UltraMonitor is not liable for indirect or consequential losses (including lost revenue, lost data, or downtime of your own services) arising from use of the service. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or, for free plans, ZAR 500.
08Termination
You can close your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate accounts that breach these terms, with notice where reasonably possible. On termination, your data is handled as described in the Privacy Policy.
09Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be announced by email or in the console at least 14 days before they take effect. Continuing to use the service after that means you accept the new terms.
10Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of South Africa, and the courts of South Africa have exclusive jurisdiction, without affecting any mandatory consumer rights you have in your own country.
